Swim. Enjoying swimming in the pool is one thing, but have you ever considered ocean swimming? Getting out there when the sun comes up and walking into the ocean is part of the fun and it’s one of the best ways to get your day started. You could even take lessons to learn how to swim safely in the ocean rather than wade in and make a point of floundering. With the current of the ocean, you’ll be fitter when you swim in the water as you’re moving against the tide.
Start climbing stairs. If you have stairs in your office building or your apartment building, start using them. You can use the Stairmaster in the gym, but you should think about using stairs wherever you can. You’ll work your leg muscles and your butt, but you’ll also do the rest of your body. Do you know shy steps are fun? It’s because they’re a challenge and you can climb them literally anywhere!
Get walking. One of the best things about just going for a walk is that you can go anywhere, walk wherever you are and go wherever you want to be while you’re walking. From the shopping malls to the beach, moving your body with a long walk a few times a week is great. You can plug in your podcast and get walking without slowing down. You’re in total control.
Get skipping. Have you ever considered skipping as a fun exercise? When you choose to get skipping either on the spot or running with the rope, you can skip and get fit at the same time. Skipping is childish and fun and just because you’re an adult, doesn’t mean that you have to act like one if you don’t want to.
