6 Health Essentials You Should Always Carry Around With You
Looking after your health is a full-time job and it’s not something that you can do in halves. If you want to improve your health and stick to good habits, you need to create a wellness routine to stick to. Regular exercise, healthy eating, and finding ways to relieve stress are all very important to your overall health.
But if you want to take care of yourself and avoid health problems while you are out and about, you need to be prepared. These are some of the health essentials you should carry with you at all times.
A Bottle Of Water
A bottle of water is one of the most important things you should carry if you want to stay healthy. Many people forget to drink water throughout the day, which is bad news because hydration is key to good health. When you’re dehydrated, it’s tough to concentrate, you may experience headaches and nausea, and you will feel very drained. Your overall productivity and mood will be worse if you don’t drink enough water, which is why you should carry some with you at all times. If you are not great at remembering to drink water, you should invest in a smart water bottle that tracks your intake. You can set up reminders on your phone to encourage you to drink more water and you will notice a huge difference to your overall wellbeing when you are well hydrated.
Pain Relief
A headache can really throw you off your game, especially if you are out with friends or at work, trying to stay productive. If you have a headache, it might be down to dehydration but if you’ve been drinking plenty of water and it’s still not going away, you need some pain relief. This is a handy thing to carry around with you in your bag, just in case you or somebody else needs it.
Indigestion Medication
If you suffer from indigestion on a regular basis, you should always carry some medication around with you, especially if you are going out to eat. The last thing you want is to be suffering from a bad case of indigestion while you are trying to enjoy yourself. There are a lot of different options on the market but lansoprazole tablets are one of the best for people with severe acid reflux. However, if your symptoms don’t go away for a long time and bouts of indigestion are increasingly common, you should get checked out by a doctor because it could be a sign of something more serious.
Plasters
You never know when you could cut yourself, so it’s always a good idea to carry a few plasters with you. If you cut yourself and leave the wound open, bacteria can get into it and potentially cause an infection. Before you know it, a small cut becomes a much bigger annoyance that takes ages to heal. But if you carry a few plasters with you, you can cover it right away and avoid all of that. Just wash it out properly first and you’ll be fine.
Sunscreen
You might think that this one only applies in summer, but it’s a good idea to carry some form of sun protection all year round. Obviously, it’s not as important in the winter but it’s still worth having some UV protection. But people always assume that they don’t need it in the UK because the weather is terrible. The thing is, our summers aren’t that bad and we do still get some sunshine, so you need to protect yourself. It’s not enough to put some sunscreen on in the morning and then head out for the day, you need to keep reapplying it throughout the day if you want to protect yourself. The long term effects of sun damage on the skin are irreversible and it can increase your risk of skin cancer, so it’s vital that you take it seriously. Bringing some sunscreen with you is always a good idea but you should look for moisturisers with SPF protection too.
Antibacterial Wipes
We’ve all become more aware of cleanliness and hygiene in the last year, and we have a much better idea about how germs and viruses spread. When you are in a public area with a lot of people around, touching things like door handles etc can quickly spread germs. We are all carrying antibacterial gel and wipes around with us at the moment and that’s something you should carry on doing, even after the pandemic is over.
As long as you carry all of these health essentials with you, you will be prepared for any situation.
